Popular Demand Pictures, GITPO Spirit Lodge, and Canadian Heritage Present the Second of Three Vignettes on the Mi'kmaq Language

August 9 is The International Day of the World's Indigenous People. Popular Demand Pictures, GITPO Spirit Lodge, and Canadian Heritage have partnered to create a trilogy of vignettes on the Mi'kmaq language.

For our second vignette, PEPKWEJETE'MAQN (Drum), we joined Elder Tully Paul and the students of the Natoaganeg School to learn the history of Pepkwejete'maqn and the sacred teachings.

The final short documentary of the trilogy will be released on August 23:

  • A'su'n (Quilt) - August 9
  • Pepkwejete'maqn (Drum) - August 16
  • Npisun (Medicine) - August 23
